• Candyland: Candyland is an ideal game for small children who are still learning to read and count. Suitable for children ages 3 and up, the object of the game is to find the King of Candyland. Gumdrop Mountains and Peppermint Stick Forest are some of the locations found along the way.

• Operation : Help your children to develop their hand-eye coordination using the game Operation. Players of Operation turn into doctors who have to "operate" on an ailing patient. To do this, they have to remove game pieces from the patient without setting off the buzzer. Operation also come in Homer Simpson and Shrek editions, and is suitable for children ages 6 and up.

• Hungry Hungry Hippos: The Hungry Hungry Hippos plastic game board has four hippos on it. Players have to push their hippo's tail to make it collect marbles with its mouth. The winner is the player with the most marbles. For ages 3 and up, Hungry Hungry Hippos can be played by two to four players. 

• Cranium games : Cranium games offer a range of brain building activities that is fun for the whole family. Children 3 and up can go on a magical treasure hunt to discover numbers, letters, colours and shapes in Cariboo, while Hullabaloo encourages auditory problem solving and friendly competition and will be enjoyed by high energy, physical kids ages 4 and up. In Balloon Lagoon, kids ages 5 and up can choose their activity to building spelling, matching and counting skills. Kids ages 7 and up are encouraged to act, draw, sculpt and solve puzzles to reveal hidden answers in Cadoo.

• Mouse Trap : Mouse Trap is a wacky game where kids ages 6 and up attempt to build a better mousetrap, while avoiding getting trapped. Players will have to use their reasoning and building skills so as to outplay their opponent and be the last mouse standing.

• High Ho! Cherry-O: Spin the wheel and attempt to become the first player to collect a full basket of 10 cherries from your tree, earning the privilege of shouting out “High Ho! Cherry-O” when you do so. Great for improving the counting skills of children ages 3 and up.

• Sorry! : Designed for children ages 6 and up, the object of Sorry! is for a player to move each of his four pawns from the start to his home location. If a pawn lands on the same square as a pawn of another colour, that pawn goes back to start.

Make sure that you check the age label prior to purchasing a board game to see if it's appropriate for your child. Age labels are assigned based on a variety of criteria, especially child safety, and as such should be followed even if your child appears to be ready for a game outside of his age range.
