A listing page displays when you click a title in search results. From this page, you can watch, bid on, or purchase an item.
About the listing page
The listing page includes two main sections:
Summary – The top of the listing includes the title, item number, item images, bidding and buying information, and an opportunity to learn more about the seller.
Tabs – Located below the summary section, these tabs provide the details you need to make an informed buying choice.
At the top of the page in the listing summary, you can:
See the item's condition, item number, and location.
Make a bid or buy the item, see the current bid or Buy It Now price, and see how much time is left before the listing ends
See postage, payment, and return policy information
Learn about the seller and check out Feedback from other buyers
By clicking the tabs, you'll get more detailed information about:
Description - Read about the item and listing details.
Postage and payments - Learn about postage options, costs, and payment requirements.
Related items and services - See similar items for sale.
When buying an item, be sure to read the information in each tab carefully. It's important to understand the seller's description of the item, their postage terms, refund and return policy, and other terms and conditions before you bid or commit to buy the item.
Reviewing the summary
The summary section is located at the top of the page and includes the following information:
Item condition (for example, new or used)
Bid history for auction-style listings
Shipping costs, payments options, and return policies
From this section, you can:
Bid on or purchase the item
Track the price and end time
Email a friend about the item
Report an listing violation
Note: During the final 24 hours of an auction-style listing, the time remaining updates once every second. (Your experience may vary according to your connection speed, computer capacity, and other factors.)
If you see a Buy It Now price on a listing, this means you can purchase the item right away without waiting for the listing to end. For items that have a Buy It Now price only, there is no bidding and you can purchase the item right away. For more information, see Shopping formats.
For auction-style listings, the current bid, time left in the auction, and the bid history appear. If a Reserve not met link appears below the current price, the seller has a minimum price that they will accept for the item. As a buyer, you can't see the minimum price, but you can see if it has been met. Learn more about reserve price auctions.
Review and confirm your bid
When you click the Place bid or Buy It Now button, a Review and confirm bid page opens. Review that your item information is correct, including the amount of your bid or the purchase price, your maximum bid, and the additional cost of postage and handling. If everything's correct, confirm your bid by clicking the Confirm bid button.
Note: Once you click the Confirm bid button, you've committed to buy the item from the seller if you're the winning bidder or buyer.
For items that have both a bid price and a Buy It Now price, the Buy It Now option may disappear if a buyer places a bid. For more information, see Shopping formats.
Learning more about the seller
The Seller info section of the listing tells you about the seller's Feedback, experience, and contact methods. You can get a good idea of your seller's reputation by reviewing the following:
The seller's Feedback Profile – A member's lifetime Feedback score is the number in parentheses next to the seller's user ID. Buyers and sellers can rate each other for transactions by leaving Feedback. Next to the Feedback score, you might see a star. Feedback stars are awarded to members for earning 10 or more Feedback ratings. The Feedback percentage represents the number of positive Feedback ratings received by this seller in the last 12 months, divided by the total number of Feedback ratings (negative, neutral and positive) received by this seller in the last 12 months. For more information about Feedback, see Feedback scores, stars, and your reputation.
The seller's other activities – For example, the seller may have icons after their user ID, such as a PowerSeller icon. Other seller icons may appear in the area, such as an eBay Store icon. When you click an icon, you can see what else the seller may want to share with the community or have to sell. To learn more about evaluating a seller, see Knowing your seller.
