Using the eBay Toolbar lets you monitor items even when you're not on eBay. You can receive alerts and view your buying and selling status from your desktop.
Receiving desktop alerts
The Alerts button on the eBay Toolbar provides notifications so you do not miss your opportunity to purchase an item.
You can receive the following desktop alerts:
Bidding Alerts for items you're bidding on that are ending soon.
Watch Alerts for items you're watching that are ending soon.
Outbid Alerts when you're no longer the highest bidder so that you can bid again, or look for another item to bid on.
Second Chance Offers on items you didn't win.
Changing desktop alert options
To change the eBay Toolbar to display only Bid Alerts, or Watch Alerts, click the Customise button on the Toolbar and select the Customise tab.
To change the alert notification options such as time, or audio notification, click the Customise button on the Toolbar and select the Alerts and Sign-in tab.
Changing the eBay Toolbar display options
To show or hide the eBay Toolbar:
In Internet Explorer's Navigation Bar, click the View menu, then select Toolbars.
Click eBay Toolbar in the menu to uncheck the eBay Toolbar.
To change the button arrangement on the eBay Toolbar:
On the eBay Toolbar, click the Customise button. The Preferences pop-up displays.
Click the Customise tab to change your button display in the eBay Toolbar.
Viewing your buying status
The Buying button lets you see the status of items you are winning, watching, and bidding on. You can also customise your eBay Toolbar to display the Items Won button, which will allow you to view the items you have won in the last seven days.
Viewing your selling status
The Selling button provides you with the status of sold and unsold items so that you can maximise your selling efficiency.
