Selling with PayPal

When you offer PayPal as a payment method on your eBay listings, your buyers can pay quickly and conveniently. Plus, using PayPal can also help you increase sales and reduce losses.

If you don’t already have a PayPal account, you can sign up here.

If you already have a PayPal account, it's easy to learn how to sell using PayPal.

Why offer PayPal on your listings?

  • It's safe - PayPal helps safeguard your transactions using industry-leading antifraud risk models.

  • It's convenient - get paid anywhere, anytime. No waiting or hassles.

  • You can send and receive PayPal payments in hundreds of markets using multiple currencies.

  • It's an all-in-one solution - accept all major credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers and more.

  • It helps increase sales - listings with PayPal get 5% more bids and are 20% more likely to sell.

  • It helps save time - automatically incorporate PayPal on all your eBay auctions effortlessly. Learn more.

  • PayPal is the preferred payment method of 5 out of 6 buyers on eBay.

Important: If you offer PayPal as a payment option on eBay (either using logos or text in the item description) you must accept all forms of PayPal payment including account balance, bank account transfer, and credit cards. You must have a Premier or Business PayPal account – or be willing to upgrade from a Personal PayPal account to a Premier or Business account – if you receive a credit card payment. You may not communicate to eBay buyers that you will only accept specific forms of PayPal payment (see the PayPal Payments Policy).

Updating or correcting your PayPal email address on eBay

Each time you sell an item on eBay, you'll be asked which PayPal email address you'd like to use to receive payment. You can change it or leave it the same as the last item you sold. You can see the email address in the "Decide how you'd like to be paid" section in the Sell Your Item form.
