Additional Information

Vehicle emission standards are established in Singapore by the Pollution Control Department (PCD) of the National Environmental Agency. With effect from 1 July 1994, all petrol-driven vehicles are required to comply with the exhaust emission standard as specified in either the European Directive 91/441/EEC (CED) or Article 31 of the Japanese Safety Regulations for Road Vehicles. To comply with these emission standards, all petrol-driven vehicles are fitted with catalytic converters.

If you have any particular questions relating environmental regulations or environmental issues in Singapore, please contact the National Environmental Agency or the Ministry of the Environment & Water Resources.
