As a seller, being on eBay keeps me abreast of the trends in the business and provides real time updated market information. It is really up to you to do the homework and sniff out opportunities on eBay

My name is TI Tan, and ebay ID is "anglo". Together with my partners, we sell collectible toys on eBay. "Anglo" means to reach out to the bigger collectible market outside Singapore.

Q. How & when did you get started selling on eBay ?
A. The first sale we made on eBay was in 1998. Item sold was a cake pan mold of the character: Boba Fett from Star Wars. Prior to that, we were just exploring how we could use eBay to find unique collectables to add to our toy collection.

Gradually we were asking ourselves what we can offer back in return to sell to the worldwide community. I believe most of the eBayers started off buying on eBay before venturing to become sellers.

"anglo" was set up 9 years ago as a pure selling account for this purpose.

Q.What inspires you?
A. Seeing our auctions closing successfully! Even then, the job is not done until the product is delivered safely and the knowledge that we have gotten another satisfied customer. The whole process can be tedious but it is also fulfilling.

Q. How did you come up with your eBay ID?
A. The account name was actually created by my close friend. At that time, he was trying out all sorts of names, IDs and combinations but most were already taken up.

"anglo"  chosen because the name is short, simple, easy to type and most importantly, easy to remember.

Q. Any interesting trading experience to share with us?
A. There are lots of opportunities to get to know avid and like-minded collectors who shares so much passion in their hobbies. I'm constantly surprised when I meet people from far away and exotic places. I have traded with people from South Africa, Venezuela, Slovenia, Greece and El Salvador.

Q. How has selling on eBay changed your life?

A. It is certainly an eye-opener to be on eBay and to see first hand what is available in this very vibrant online marketplace. As a buyer, it has certainly furthered my collecting hobby by providing avenues and means to get in touch with fellow collectors and to have access to what they have to offer.
