Tips for successful postage

These tips will help you send your items quickly and efficiently so that you can provide your buyers with a great eBay experience.

Package your items carefully
Make sure your item arrives safely by packing it securely. Use a sturdy box that's the right size, make sure to include enough packing material, and tape it securely. Find out more about packaging items.
Send items quickly
Buyers typically want their items quickly, so the faster you can get your items dispatched, the happier your buyers will be. Consider offering either same working day or 1 working day dispatch and tell your buyer when an item has been dispatched.
Tip: By meeting certain dispatch conditions, you can automatically receive 5-star detailed seller rating for Dispatch time.
Save time and hassle with package pickup and insurance
Many delivery services offer package pickup. If you sell valuable items, consider offering insurance. Check with your postal service/courier company for insurance and pickup options.
Remember, you can include the cost of insurance in the item's price or dispatch cost, but you can't charge a separate fee for insurance.
Stock up on supplies
Always have postage supplies on hand by ordering from the Post Office, or find postage supplies from sellers on eBay.

Generate repeat business
Include a business card or note with your eBay user ID to thank your buyer for their business.
