Key Rules and Policies
These key policies are highlighted for your reference only. A complete list of up-to-date rules and policies are available from the Key Rules and Policies section on eBay.com.

Linking to Photos of Your Items

Sellers may include links to photos of the item for sale. The photo pages may also contain discrete links to other pages that offer items for sale outside-of-eBay, but may not contain descriptions of or links to specific items on other sites.

Linking to Picture Galleries
Sellers may also link to a page where information relating to eBay or Half.com items is grouped in a picture gallery or similar format as long as the page otherwise complies with eBay's links policies. This gallery page may also contain discrete links to other pages that offer items for sale outside-of -Bay, but may not contain descriptions of or links to individual items on other sites.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Limits on account privileges

  • Account suspension

  • Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings

  • Loss of PowerSeller status

Some Examples
  • A link to more photos of an automobile listed for sale are permitted.

  • A link to a gallery of a seller’s other items is permitted.

Why does eBay have this policy?

This policy allows sellers to provide a potential buyer with more photos about the item for sale, It also allows a seller to merchandise other listings in the seller’s gallery. It also ensures the buyer is not encouraged to complete the transaction outside-of-eBay which circumvents eBay fees and may be unsafe.
